What's sweet about today?

• not that my mom bit my arm while I was sleeping
• not that she gently told me to transfer to her room to continue my sleep as she was going to clean the living room
• not that she spread the blanket over me to keep me warm the whole morning
• not that we cleaned the house together and shared the same allergens (namely: heat, dust, heat and dust) to support our allergies
• not that she fried fish and bought chicharon for us to share
• not that we had lunch together, not minding our differences in table manners (she being the usual OC, I being the normal. ha!)

It's not what my mom did to me and for me today. What's sweet is what God's doing to my mom all for me, His precious daughter. I love you, my sweet Lord. <3

Oh, and PS, Jetsky dropped by for a few 30 minutes..

It was one ordinary Xchange saturday (it was today actually) when Kate started flashing ICEBREAKER cards at us. She was playing, and I was too. But I think it was sweet... of her... of us trying to answer those questions (along with the rest of the gang: Joi, Jowi, Kristine, Ate Charis and Jetsky).

First off,
KATE (holding the card right in front of my face): Who is Jesus for you?
STARLEE: Sha ay *thinking* everything! *thinking of Everything by Lifehouse*

KATE: Do you believe in LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT (those were really in big letters,mind you)?
STARLEE: Kze hindi ku pa nakikita si Jesus pero I love Him.

KATE: Do you find yourself impressive? Why?
STARLEE: NO! Because I can't find myself.

KATE: What three things do you want to see in your married life?
STARLEE: *whaaat?!* *rummaging through stuff, kunyare nag aayos while having something else in mind.. whatta question!*

Then came the others......

KATE: Ate Starlee, di mu pa sinasagot to! *flashing the card again*
STARLEE: Ah! Bahay, asawa, anak! *whew!*

KATE: How would you describe your father?
JOI: Manly.
KATE: *looking at me*
STARLEE: err.. Fatherly! *tama ba??*
JETSKY: No comment.

Enough of me. She went to JETSKY next.

KATE: What are your strengths and weaknesses?
JETSKY: *pointing at me*
STARLEE:
KATE:

KATE: Tell us about a blessing you received recently.
JETSKY: *pointing at me again*
STARLEE:
KATE:

KATE: Whom do you share your problems and joys with?
JETSKY: *pointing at me yet again*
STARLEE:
KATE:

The result of disobedience is mainly isolation from God nd his rich blessings. However, in Nehemiah, He was more specific.

Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:

Neh 1:8 (KJV)

True enough, if we don't keep His commandments and we move away from His territory, we will be just a commoner, scattered among unbelievers, not experiencing God's love and compassion. There will be divisions and arguments, all because we fail to abide by his commandments.

But Nehemiah 1:9 says that if we return to our original god which is You, You will make us prosper together in a place where You, my God, will dwell.

But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.

Neh 1:9 (KJV)

This is what's happening now. We fail to keep ourselves under Your cover and take things into our own hands. That's why we are suffering greatly from our actions.

Lord, as I lead them in returning to You, guide me and give me wisdom, for You know better than I do.

All of God's creations sing to Him!

God placed the birds in the sky to sing to Him. He placed the trees in their place so that they may provide shade, shelter and food. He created mountains for us to see His majestic creations from top view. He made water for us to enjoy the marine world and be amazed at how He had made such wonderful water creatures.

So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. 26 There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein. 27 These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season. 28 That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good. 29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. 30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

Psalms 104:25-30 (KJV)

God placed everything in their positions to give glory to Himself. As people, we were also placed here to bring Him praise. But God loves us so much that He gave us a choice. As for birds, they don't have a choice. It's in their anatomy to sing for God. As for us humans, we were given free will to choose whether we will glorify Him or not.

Let's make the wise choice - and that is to bring praise to our Creator - Lord over all the earth.
