awed at people who have hobbies that are totally incongruent with their jobs or
their academic capabilities. An example is a friend from college. He was one of
the smartest people I knew; he was also one of the weirdest. He loved reading
books on psychology and philosophy, yet Playboy and FHM magazines were also
some of his types. He had the most objective opinions and ideals. He drank; he
smoked; he even smoked marijuana, but his fancy for little kids was so
endearing one would think he's already a father. :)

to what I was saying. We can classify people according to their looks, their
brains, and even their upbringings, but we can't judge them for what they do in
their secret times and places. For me, hobbies define the heart of a person -
the inner personality only he/she and God know, and whatever gift we always
look forward to on our birthday and in Christmas only reflects our values and
belief system - who we are when no one's looking and how we view ourselves in
relation to the world and life itself.

written by my callused fingers. The
funny thing is when I receive a journal or a notebook that I actually terribly
like, I don’t use it just yet. I keep it on display until I grow tired of
poring over it and admiring its pages. Until a new and fancier one arrives, I
wouldn’t be using my beloved journal for just any writing. It should contain my
best works, my best writings. This was the case until September 30, 2011. I
didn’t have spare money to buy a new devotional journal, but I had all those
cute diaries from Korea and Taiwan that I didn’t want to use for JUST any

state of mind. It’s passionate, unconditional love pouring out on a seemingly

I really should be doing something fruitful with my life right now. In between December 3, 2010 and this day, March 4, 2011, I've had enough spare time to reevaluate my goals and what I really wanted to do. Here's what I came up with:

Working from home does my body no good. Sounds like a joke, but hey, I'm not! Totoo, I gained so many pounds over the last 3 months. When I saw my weight at the clinic yesterday, my eyes literally bulged. This was my heaviest yet, which makes me come up with a next realization.

Healthful food is helpful (pala). Sure I knew I had to eat veggies and fruits and carbs and protein-rich foods to maintain a healthy diet. The problem was, I ate too much. And too much of junk food as well. Ha! Sad story for me there. Anyway, healthful food is the way - nothing follows!

Learning is so much fun - when I do it with others. Photoshop class is on its 11th week. At first I didn't like the idea of studying Photoshop. It was kinda humiliating, I thought, knowing that many of my friends are already good at it. But since i was offered free tuition fee (by my dad), I couldn't help but grab the chance. With this humble act, I realized I loved being in class and studying alone was a drag. I rarely spoke to my classmates, though, but it was fun observing (Ssh, don't tell!).

Learning is my passion; teaching is application. With every new job opportunity I'm faced with, I realize there are so many things I have to know. I have to improve to reach a higher step. I have to learn to reach the next ladder. And boy, I am so determined to do that now. I've never been so enthused in my life! :)

Focusing on one area of competency is good, but using this competency to advance in another is better! Enough said.

I'm 24, and needless to say, I have to grow up and leave my childish habits and ideas behind. Thank God He's always there to be my Guide and my Shelter from the storms in my life.

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to him be [all] the glory! -- Eph. 3:20-21a

This is our time! See the multitudes of people already drawn to Christ? 17,000 people!
Next time, it's gonna be twice the size of the Big Dome. And still next time, there won't be any ticket fees (because the Aranetas will be in CONQUEST as well). :P
(Zech. 7:5b).

It was then I had the conviction to reconsider my actions and decisions the past two weeks. The Lord didn't deliberately reveal to me that I, and a partner, should fast for us to be heard in our prayers, but with all my stubbornness, I thought it was the best choice for me, for that person, and for the Lord. Nevertheless, it was not pleasing to the Lord, but He was kind enough to remind me - without any reprimand at all. :)

The Lord doesn't require us to fast. Sure it can give Him glory; it is also a weapon against the forces of darkness. But the most crucial question is: Why do we fast? Do we really fast for the Lord? Do we fast for His ultimate will to be accomplished in our lives? Or do we just do it out of self-conviction and wrong, oh-so-selfish motives for us to escape sin?

Bang! It hits home.

What good does fasting do if we don't promote justice and mercy?

"This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. In your hearts do not think evil of each other.'

-Zech. 7:9-10
Who do we offer our sacrifices to if we don't recognize the authority and lordship of God?

For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.

-Hosea 6:6
What is there to sacrifice and to burn if we don't obey the voice of God?

But Samuel replied:

"Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

-1 Sam. 15:22

Yes, I was wrong. Now I'm ready to get back on track, with the right mind, right heart, and right attitude! :)
Sadly, it took me about a year to reach the book. And now that I'm finally in the middle of it, I think the Lord has spoken to me many times through this young prophet. Everyday is a new day, and every chapter gives out a prophecy - something I have to remember for myself.

God promises us a lot of things, but only if we follow Him and abide by His ways. I always stick to the fact that SIN HINDERS BLESSINGS, so anything rightfully ours is not given to us by the Lord because of our sins and disobedience.

Jeremiah was given a very difficult task by the Lord. Instead of prophesying about God's grace and blessings, Jeremiah prophesied about God's judgment on His people - and heck, nobody believed him! They continued to blind themselves by false prophecies saying that the Lord was good even though they were bad. We should always remember that God is not just some charity or foundation - HE IS A JUST GOD - and He proclaims blessings only to those who deserve them. Likewise, He commands judgment to the unworthy ones.

This is what the LORD Almighty says:

"Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you;
they fill you with false hopes.
They speak visions from their own minds,
not from the mouth of the LORD.
They keep saying to those who despise me,
'The LORD says: You will have peace.'
And to all who follow the stubbornness of their hearts
they say, 'No harm will come to you.'

Jeremiah 23:16-17

We shouldn't be believing that something is from God just because it is good. Sometimes, things may look ugly in our eyes, but in God's, they are the best for us. :)
How I miss getting my thumb mark scanned and pushing my card into the bundy clock (yes, I actually pushed my time card in there!). It's also a stepping stone towards my ultimate goal - oh, that, I have yet to determine.
Cheers all! Here's to my less-pressured life at Mapua.^^
However, bugged as I may be, I won't let him get to my nerves and get the best of me. The best is only for the Lord. And yeah, I leave you (and myself) this verse for today:
I automatically associated a person under cover to one covering up himself for the purpose of catching a culprit or an expert criminal. Little did I imagine what it meant to be under cover on a spiritual basis. John Bevere’s book, Under Cover, enlightened me on this matter. Being under cover doesn’t mean that we do the covering; rather, it is God who covers us and puts us under His direct and appointed authority.

Right from the beginning, God has already manifested His authority over His creation. Adam and Eve were under God’s cover in the Garden of Eden until they disobeyed one simple command from the Lord, and that was to not eat of the forbidden fruit. Disobedience is moving away from God’s covering. When a person disobeys the Lord, he does not recognize the authority of God in his life; accordingly, he goes about doing what he wants to do. He rejects the law, or the will, of God, and replaces it with his own needs and wants – his own law. The apostle John made it clear that “sin is lawlessness” (English Standard Version, 1 John 3.4).

Bevere says in his book that lawlessness will abound among the members of the Church – those who loved the Lord, but have grown cold, and those who started the race but are having difficulty enduring it (30-31). As time passes, more and more Christians will be deceived and be inclined to lawlessness. In this light, it is essential to know that lawlessness arises from deception. Take this situation for example. What Christian, in his right mind, will disobey the sixth commandment of God to not murder? I assume none, but when Satan does his job of tricking us into believing that mere words cannot hurt or kill people, and we start gossiping and spreading rumors about others, then we have already been deceived by the master himself. Satan is so good at fabricating lies and leading us astray that he makes sure we don’t catch him sneaking right at our doorstep and makes us believe we are acting according to the law of the Lord when in fact, at times, we are not.

The course of deception starts with knowledge of the law. There is a huge difference between communicated knowledge and revealed knowledge. As with Eve’s case, she may have heard the command of God from Adam, and not from God Himself (Bevere 38). This is communicated knowledge. We don’t hear something first-hand. We hear it from another source. We hear sermons and teachings from our pastors, leaders and mentors. We learn of facts from books, lectures or video clips. Come to think of it, it is truly impossible to hear God’s voice in modern times. We have no choice but to be fed by second-hand sources. This is where the revelation of the Lord is necessary. When Eve was told by Adam to not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, she was compliant. She may have thought, “Oh, great. My husband conveyed God’s message to me. They must be really close.” It is rather important to note that God and man were in direct communication in the beginning. Knowing this, Eve did not even consult God or ask further information about His command. She merely settled for what Adam had told her. She did not receive the revelation of God; she trusted in her own understanding of God’s words to Adam. This is exactly how she was deceived by the serpent to think that “there [was] good outside God’s provision” (Bevere 44).

As a Christian who grew up in church, I was led, if not taught, to believe that God’s provision was the best, and that anything of this world will not do me any good. However, as I let sin enter into my life, I didn’t notice that a veil of deception was gradually covering my heart. When we justify our sins and claim that they are not against the Lord, we fool ourselves. The conviction of the Holy Spirit is lessened and we fail to see the sins we have done (Bevere 60). We tend to give logical reasons for our disobedience, and it becomes harder for us to acknowledge that we have, in fact, sinned. I had been a victim of deception for a long time, and based on personal experience, I believe the reasoning came naturally because of the abundance of sin in my heart, my mind and my life.

To remove this veil of deception, God uses a three-step process. After we sin, the Lord convicts us through the Holy Spirit. Others call the conviction an act of the conscience. When, after the conviction, we still don’t confess and repent of our sins, He uses prophetic messages to reach us. He makes use of the people around us, the things we read, and our environment to convey His message to us. When, after the conviction and the prophetic messages, we still don’t acknowledge our lawlessness, He resorts to punishment. When we experience God’s punishment, it is not that God brings suffering on us. It is that “He lifts His hand of protection and allows the enemy to bring on us what obedience would have protected us from” (Bevere 63).

God wants only the best for us. We want blessings; He willingly gives them. We want comfort and protection; He is our Fortress and Refuge. We want a Friend, a Teacher, or even a Father; He’s always there. In spite of all the things we need and desire, God requires only one thing from us: total obedience and submission to His authority. By total obedience, it means the Lord is not contented with 99.9% obedience; He wants 100%. Partial obedience is still disobedience because there is still a portion of disobedience and rejection of His commands.

After our disobedience, we might think that sacrifice can make up for it. We do all sorts of things, thinking they are enough to find favor in God’s eyes. However, in heavenly standards, obedience is much better than sacrifice. Why is this? While God is pleased with our sacrifice, He doesn’t need, or even want, them. He wants us to obey Him, to follow His every command. We should bear in mind that while God gives us our own free will, we cannot choose how to please Him. We don’t do the choosing; God does, and we are under His authority. The story of Cain and Abel is the perfect illustration. Cain made a sacrifice out of his crops, even though he knew very well that God wanted the sacrifice of blood. Cain chose to disobey what God wanted and preferred to try to please God in his own way. This will never bring satisfaction to the Lord. We should serve the Lord and live our lives the way He wants us to. We don’t choose what is pleasing to Him or not. We don’t do it our way. Otherwise, we disobey. And our sacrifices are useless if we don’t obey Him in the smallest of things.

Obedience is not limited only to God’s word. The Lord has appointed leaders for us. It is sad, though, that most of the leaders, especially of our nation, do not fear the Lord. They remain corrupt, abusive and oppressive. It is not that God is unaware of their wrongdoing. In fact, it is He who placed them in authority. He knows what they are capable of doing and how wicked they can get. After all, He is omniscient. I have often wondered why God has placed them in authority. Now I understand that they are positioned above us to train us for heavenly authority. If right here on earth, we cannot follow our local barangay, town and city officials, the president of our country and his fellow national officers, our church pastors and leaders, our teachers at school and supervisors and managers at work, and even our parents and grandparents, then it is quite impossible for us to follow the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords. Insubordination to God’s appointed authority is insubordination to Him as well. However unfair and wicked His appointed authorities over us are, we must obey them and submit to their authority. God has his own way of dealing with their wickedness. All we have to do is follow, and by following, we are placing ourselves under God’s protection. Even if God’s appointed authority over us plans evil against us, we are under God’s cover and no harm can be done against us.

Now, when I hear the phrase, “under cover,” an entirely different concept comes to my mind. I think of the covering God has over me. I think of how He keeps me under His care and authority, and all I have to do is bask in His goodness and mercy, and obey and submit to His direct and appointed authority.
Honestly, yesterday, i was really tempted to go and see my cicely, knowing that im just one ride away for just 10mins and pooff!! im home!! honestly, i did brake my covenant, cause i send her a message asking if i could come and the annswer is yes, whoah!!! guess what, hehe... yep your'e right, i didnt go. i dont want to break our (me and my cicely) covenant to God again, right here i pray to God for forgiveness because iam weak and so tempted, hey jets!! you just passed the 1 month trial, why dont you and your cicely add 2months more to see how I work in building you relationship to ME and to yourself and family and future family.

check this out.

But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you. In the old times, the Israelites were known for making idols and worshiping other gods. What better way to define it than by the use of the word, harlot.

Harlotry and idolatry mean the same thing in the Old Testament context. All throughout the Old Testament, the people of God disgraced His name by building golden idols for them to worship. They were not content with the provisions, blessings and mercy they received from God. They wanted a god that they can see, touch or even smell.

Moreover, these people did nothing but evil in the sight of the Lord. They were filthy and unworthy. They committed adultery among each other, brothers and sisters included.

Despite this unbearable fact, the Lord continued to hear their pleas whenever they cried to the Lord to forgive them. God's love for them was so great that He mercifully forgave them and showered them with blessings.

This is the Lord's message to Hosea.

"Go again. Love the people who have done evil things to you. Love those who curse you. Love those who have hurt you. Love them as I loved the children of Israel when they played the harlot with other gods and disgraced My name."

In the passage, Hosea bought the woman for a price. But actually, it is God who bought us for a price. Fifteen shekels may be a lot for the Israelites in their time, but the Lord paid a much higher price - His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. He was willing to sacrifice His only Son to save a world of sinners!

And the Lord instructs us,

"You shall not have any other gods before Me all the days of your life. Your devotion and love is only for Me. Do not equal Me to the things of this world nor to the people I placed before you. Do this, and so will I to you."

The message is clear, but I understood the real meaning only now. Let's focus our eyes, our lives, our hearts on the Lord, our Rock and Fortress. I may fail you, and you may fail me. But the Lord can't and will never do that.

YES!! We can! ^^hehe.. this morning as i woke up, we had this prayer time as part of our covenant, after that i opened my bible and my devotional guide, and as i read it, it goes like this:

in Hosea 3:1-5

Then the Lord said to me, "Go again, love a woman who is loved by a lover and is committing adultery, just like the love of the Lord for the children of Israel, who look to other gods and love the raisin cakes of the pagans."

So I bought her for myself for fifteen sheckels of silver, and one half homers of barely and I said to her "You shall stay with me many days; you shall not play the harlot, nor shall you have a man so, too, will be toward you"

For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without ephod or teraphim.

Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God and david their king. They shall fear the Lord and His goodness in the latter days.

whoaa!! what is the message behind this?? what does God want me to do?? doea it mean that my partner have another man?? Just thinking about it hurts my heart so much that I automatically burst into tears. How could something so unknown hurt me so much? How could something only God holds be so terrifying to me?

Do I lack in faith? Am I trusting God only for the time being? Then again, do I really trust Him with all my heart, my mind and my soul?

I may be wrong in thinking I've been faithful to the Lord for the past twenty-three years for a concern as small as this gets me trembling and shaking.

Even with all this doubt, He answers me with absolute certainty in 2 Kings.

16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
2 Kings 6:16 (KJV)

I've always feared the unknown, believing it might eat me up anytime. I've feared the future, thinking nothing good is in store for me. I've feared myself, knowing that I'm imperfect and that I can hurt people in the long run.

I've lived in fear, but the Lord has redeemed me. And His promises are the very ones I will be holding on to.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Psalms 23:4 (KJV)

Darkness is unknown; shadows are unfathomable, but the Lord is my guide and my light. Who shall I be afraid of?

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Matt 6:25-26 (KJV)

The future is not my problem. In fact, I shouldn't have any worries at all. The Lord provides even to the lowliest of creatures, and yet they don't equal to us in God's eyes. We are His precious children, His beloved princes and princesses. It's not a question of whether He will provide for us or not; it's more of us trusting that He will provide.

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Romans 3:24-26 (KJV)

I was a sinner - no doubt, but the Lord's abundant grace has justified us through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Being a slave to sin by fearing it makes Jesus' sacrifice pointless. Entrusting Him our lives, our worries and fears is what He wants us to do.

23 And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.
2 Kings 13:23 (KJV)

The Lord never forgets His promises. He keeps His covenant throughout generations, and His promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will be carried out to us.

With the covenant we now have with the Lord, I will hold on to the promise He has given us. I will hold on to Him who has never broken a promise with His beloved children. This time is for the Lord - for Him to do what He pleases in our lives, for His honor and glory to be proclaimed through us, and for His love and grace to be brought to every one of His creations.
These lives are for You - mine and Jetsky's. Use them as you please.
